Below is a bulleted list of DO's

  • Store the Album in an outer sleeve. This will keep dust and debris from collecting on the album sleeve or in the pocket where the record will surely attract unwanted contaminants.
  • Store your records in an upright position since laying them down flat will warp them over time.
  • Replace the paper inner sleeve with a plastic anti-static sleeve. Again to keep dust from being attracted to the disc surface.
  • Do a surface clean with a cleaning brush before you play each side of your record
  • Handle each record without touching your fingers to the grooved surface
  • If excessive dust, dirt, and particles are present, a thorough washing should be performed. I recommend an ultrasonic cleaning to get a deep groove rehabilitation.
