Bayard No.159

Bayard Guitars

ACG20001

  • No.159 is a gorgeous sloped shoulder dreadnought. Made with a tenacity for detail and touting a remarkable marble figure in the Hondurian rosewood. Back, sides, neck, fretboard, bridge, and headplate all came from the same slab of unique 40 year old rosewood. Top is made from German spruce.

"The German tops are my favorite, a lot like the American red spruce, but often a bit on the softer side which can warm them up and make them swing" -Bayard

  • Really balanced across all the strings with a strong treble and the powerful bass expected from the sloped shoulder dread. The scalloped red spruce x-bracing combined with the dense Honduran rosewood gives it a lot of depth and harmonic overtones. This is a great guitar for a flat picker and would excel with drop D tuning. The soft German spruce top warms up the tone and makes the instrument swing
